Teacher/Lecturer in Art and Cultural History

Solvik Folk High School is located 15 kilometers north of Skellefteå and has approximately 200 participants and around forty dedicated staff members. We have teachers, support staff, administrative personnel, property managers, as well as restaurant and cleaning staff. Our boarding facility accommodates over 60 residents.

Solvik is a movement-associated folk high school that, based on Christian values and the government's mission, offers a good educational environment that stimulates individuals and groups to develop, educate, and learn.

About the Position

The position involves teaching and lecturing in art history and culture-related subjects primarily within our art courses, but may also include elements in other courses. We value a pedagogy based on dialogue, curiosity, collaboration, and openness to each other's perspectives and experiences. As part of our teaching team, you will have the opportunity to inspire, create, and contribute to a vibrant folk education environment.

About You

We are looking for someone who

· Has documented solid knowledge in art and cultural history at the university level or equivalent.

· Is aligned with Solvik's values and has a view of knowledge that emphasizes wholeness and life skills.

It is an advantage if you

· Are a trained teacher, preferably with a folk high school teacher qualification.

· Have experience lecturing for/teaching adults.

Employment Conditions

  • Duration: Permanent, after a 6-month probationary period
  • Scope: Part-time, 40%
  • Employment Type: Seasonal employment
  • Start Date: August 13, 2026, or by agreement
  • Salary: By agreement
